Who hath ears to hear

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 13:9

How often do I listen, but do not hear? There is so much going on all around me, but how often to I take the time to give my full undivided attention to one particular thing. How often am I like Elijah sitting and looking for the Lord to reveal Himself in the whirlwind of activity racing past me. And yet He is sitting right here next to me just waiting for my heart to be quiet, patiently waiting for me to take time out of my busy schedule to sit at His feet. He wants my full undivided attention, so that I may be able to really hear with understanding what He has for me, each and everyday. What am I waiting for? When Jesus asked His disciples if they would leave Him and go on with their own lives...and Peter answered saying Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.(John 6:68). Where am I running to for the answers that will help me get through this day? He has called us into a loving relationship with Him, in every good relationship there needs to be communication. Christ is desiring to communicate His heart to us. Are we willing to listen with open ears? With hearts that desire to understand? He wants to pour our His love to us, to gird us up with His truth, and to commission us with His Word. Where am I? Am I as Mary, sitting at His feet soaking up His every word? I pray that this is where I am each and everyday.

 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:1-2
New Year, New Day, and New Mercies. Looking back can be no fun, even though our vision can be twenty-twenty we may wish we were blind to certain things just the same. I am so thankful this New Year to remember that God's mercies are new every morning. And that even though I may have messed up, or failed, He is still the same yesterday, today and forever. Looking forward to all the possibilities that this New Year can be exciting, but I am sure there are still going to be some days that I will just not want to face. Yet I that I can run into the loving arms of my Savior and He will sustain me. This is what I am thankful for this New Years Day.

Faith, Hope and Love...

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
What is our definition of our faith? Our faith is defined by what we place our hope in. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:21) We have to now define our hope. For believers our hope is a joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. (Romans 8:24,25) Now we have defined our hope, a set confidence in what Christ did for us on the cross. And we have fixed our hearts on placing our treasure in heavenly things. But God doesn't stop there, He also lets us know that there are many blessings that we will reap the benefits along with this assurance of everlasting life. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.(Isaiah 26:3) So many people in this world are out on the never ending journey to discover their 'inner peace'. But here God tells us that He will keep us in perfect peace if we will simply trust. Trusting Him, Hoping in Him, placing our faith in Him. What is our starting point though? What base are we working off of? Did we simply wake up one day and decide, "today I am going to radically change my life"? No, He loved us first, and we were drawn to Him because of it. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. (1John 4:15-19) Faith, Hope, Love...and Trust In Him. Also I now know why I am here, what I am supposed to do here, and where I am headed...but that is for another time.

Nothing is a shock to Him that knows all...

Change...it is an extremely popluar word that we may use everyday. We are always looking for someone to come in and create change. But sometimes we are actually granted that wish, and after we recieve the 'change' it is nothing like what we expected. I am so thankful to know a God who doesnt change no matter what. He is a solid rock, never moving, always there to pick us up and dust us off. In this world things change, life happens, we cant stop it, we learn to accept it and live with it. But my God is always there...He isnt going anywhere. Even amidst the terrible storms, He is the hand that reaches out to us, our life line. My life turns upside down, and yet I know that I can leave it all in His capable hands, I can trust Him with it ALL. Because I know for a fact that He loves me and has my best in mind at all times. I know that His feelings for me will never change, He will always be there is guide me, and for that I am truly grateful.

Searching for an Answer...

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
Whenever we are looking for an answer to lifes many questions, there is one place that we can always turn to. We have to refocus our attention on seeking Gods answers for our life.
